Clydesdale Bank's polymer notes enter production

Clydesdale Bank's £5 polymer banknote is now in full production and will start to replace the paper version in September.

The longer-lasting and waterproof note is being printed by De La Rue and includes a security feature of an image of Scotland that changes colour as the note is moved and tilted.

A £10 polymer note will be launched in 2017. Clydesdale Bank introduces about £400 million worth of new notes every year and in 2015 reached the milestone of having more than £2 billion worth of notes in circulation on a single day.
