Glasgow Science Centre gets major Stem boost
The “collaboration technology”, including superior internet access, will allow students and teachers to communicate and network with scientists from around the world through voice and video.
It will also allow visitors to the GSC to join seminars as well as share knowledge with experts around the globe.
The technical equipment was donated by American IT giant Cisco after assessing the centre’s requirements, while Lanarkshire-based communications specialist Provista UK implemented the project.
Dr Stephen Breslin, GSC’s chief executive, said pupils would be able to engage with “a North Sea oil-rig engineer, a scientist at Nasa or a researcher from a university – the possibilities are endless”.
