Wood Group says 190 jobs secured with $150m Nexen deal

The Aberdeen-based firm said the $150 million (£105m) deal, with Chinese-owned Nexen, extends a contract that has been in place since April 2010 and will see its PSN division continue to deliver operations, maintenance and technical support across the Buzzard, Golden Eagle and Scott.
James Crawford, Wood Group PSN’s managing director for the UK and Africa said: “Working in partnership with Nexen we have proactively added value, maximised productivity and enhanced efficiency and safety across these assets.

The Nexen deal marks the third contract extension Wood Group PSN has secured in the North Sea this year. Earlier this month, it struck a two-year deal with Abu Dhabi-based TAQA, covering the Cormorant Alpha, North Cormorant, Eider, Tern and Harding assets. That followed an extension agreed in February to continue supporting Chevron across four offshore assets.
