Here’s everything you need to know about Euphoria season 2.

What is Euphoria about?

Euphoria is a teen drama focused on the intertwined lives of a group of high school students, following their experiences of drugs, friendships, love, identity, and trauma.

The second season picks up from the first, and continues to track Rue’s (Zendaya) recovery from drug addiction, alongside a number of other plotlines.

Who is in the cast of Euphoria?

Zendaya stars as Rue Bennett, a teenager recovering from drug addiction. Zendaya – who you might recognise from Marvel’s Spider-Man movies, or perhaps from sci-fi epic Dune – has been extensively praised for her performance in Euphoria, and won an Emmy award for Best Actress in a Drama Series.

Hunter Schafer stars as Jules, Rue’s best friend. Euphoria was Schafer’s acting debut, though she has also co-written one episode.

The rest of the cast include Alexa Demie (The OA), Jacob Elordi (The Kissing Booth), Sydney Sweeney (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Algee Smith (Judas and the Black Messiah).

The series is written and executive produced by Sam Levinson, who also collaborated with Zendaya on the Netflix film Malcolm and Marie.

When is it Euphoria on and how can I watch it in the UK?

Euphoria season 2 begins on Monday 10 January. In the UK it’s available on Now TV and Sky Atlantic.

Each episode will be available to watch from 2am, and will air on Sky Atlantic at 9pm in the evenings.

Where can I watch the trailer for Euphoria Series 2?

You can find the trailer for Euphoria below. In it, you can see the different characters going about their lives, as Zendaya narrates and alludes to difficult events to come.

What happened in the 2020 Euphoria specials?

Filming on Season 2 of Euphoria was disrupted by the pandemic, meaning it’s been considerably delayed since its planned airdate.

To make that wait a little less severe, two Euphoria specials were released at the end of 2020 – both were small, character-focused pieces, each one featuring only two actors.

The first saw Rue (Zendaya) talking to her AA sponsor, while the second saw Jules (Hunter Schafer) speaking to her therapist.

They’re each about reflecting on the first season finale, and while they’re both important in terms of character development and themes, if you’re only interested in certain storylines you could probably skip them.

What do the Euphoria reviews say?

In our review, we said Euphoria Season 2 sometimes loses sight of its own strengths, but it’s best when Zendaya gets “moments of quiet cruelty and cold disregard where it feels like Euphoria has suddenly become strikingly observant”.
