While Kevin is now old enough to be left at home alone, Macaulay Culkin could still make an appearance in the upcoming movie.

So, what’s it about and who will star in the movie? This is what you need to know ahead of its November release.

What is Home Sweet Home Alone about?

Max Mercer is the kid left alone at home during the festivities, as his mum, dad, Uncle Blake and the rest of the kids board a flight to Tokyo.

10-year-old Max realises he has the freedom of his parents’ stunning home all to himself, which results in Buddy the Elf-inspired food combinations and dressing up in his dad’s tailored suits.

But, it wouldn’t be Home Alone without a break in, petty criminals and a kid with a wild imagination.

For Home Sweet Home Alone, Max is burgled by a couple and the wife appears to be the ringleader.

From trampolines to icy driveways, Santa costumes and a mother who can’t get anyone to understand her worries, the movie is set to be a classic Christmas comedy.

Who stars in the Home Sweet Home Alone cast?

Archie Yates, nominated for a Critics Choice award for his role as Yorki in Jojo Rabbit (2019), leads as Max Mercer.

Home Sweet Home Alone co-stars Irish comedian Aisling Bea (Living With Yourself, Love Wedding Repeat) as his worried mother, Carol, and American comedian and actor Pete Holmes stars as Uncle Blake.

Comedian Rob Delaney is the intruder in the 2021 film, he plays Jeff alongside his onscreen wife, The Office star Ellie Kemper.

Also in the lineup is Timothy Simons, Saturday Night Live stars Chris Parnell and Kenan Thompson and comedian Andy Daly.

While the name McAllister is teased in the trailer, Macaulay Culkin was quick to shut down rumours of his appearance.

Following the release of the trailer, he broke his two-month-long Twitter hiatus to tell his 851,800 followers that he wishes the cast all the best, but will not feature.

Despite this blatant denial of starring, rumours continue to circulate about whether he will make a cameo in the movie.

When is Home Sweet Home Alone released?

Home Sweet Home Alone will be released on Disney Plus on 12 November.
