The Meadows: Edinburgh group arrange rubbish bags into number of Scottish deaths from coronavirus

The bags of rubbish that were collected were enough to write the number 2482 and the group flew a drone over the site to get birdseye pictures of their endeavour on Friday.

The Meadows has been the focal point of recent anger and frustration as the scorching weather saw crowds of people flocking to the city centre beauty spot.

Pictures and videos across social media showed the litter and rubbish left behind by hundreds of people.

Filmed footage of a brawl in the area on Thursday night was sent to the Edinburgh Evening News, where as well as fighting, there are crowds of people with no physical distancing taking place.

The Scottish death toll from coronavirus where someone has tested positive for the disease is 2,482, but the National Records of Scotland collate numbers of those who have died and have Covid -19 mentioned on the death certificate, and this number is above 4,000.
