9. See a record-breaking map
One of the odder attractions in the Borders, the Great Polish Map of Scotland sits in the grounds of the Barony Castle Hotel, near Peebles. If you are looking for a walk in the woods then Glentress Forest, just north of Innerleithen, is hard to beat.
