Museum joins world’s best

MUSEUMS and galleries in the Capital have joined some of the most prestigious establishments in Florence, Moscow, New York and Tokyo as the world’s most popular.

The National Museum of Scotland, which attracted 1,893,000 visitors last year, came 20th on a list compiled by The Art Newspaper, beating the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and the Kremlin Museum.

The National Galleries of Scotland were close behind at number 23. The galleries’ four sites had roughly 1,604,000 visitors, more than the Getty Museum in New York and the National Museum in Tokyo.
