Musical scored for ear implants goes on tour

A MUSICAL written by a city composer for deaf people with hearing implants is going on the road.

Deacon, composed by 24-year-old Edinburgh University student Zack Moir, will begin its tour in Glasgow later this month.

Mr Moir was approached by the manufacturers of cochlear implants, which allow deaf people to hear through advanced technology. As some notes sound shrill with the implants, he wrote the music especially to sound pleasant to their users.
