Brothel-keepers
When I read that Edinburgh brothels were to be denied licences (your report, 12 November), I thought for a moment that the City of Edinburgh Council had acknowledged its responsibility to uphold the law.
But, no, it still thinks it is above the law, opting to run its territory as an independent principality, not as the capital city of a democratic nation.
I cannot understand how such a state of affairs is allowed to continue and I urge Police Scotland to enforce the law, even in Edinburgh, where councillors appear to regard the law of the land as subject to their own discretion.
