Give us our referendum

David Cameron, the Tory leader, could save the Irish from the pain of a second referendum on the Lisbon treaty. He only has to pledge that, as prime minister, he would give us the referendum we were promised, irrespective of what may have happened in Ireland or any other EU country. That should be enough to kill off the treaty for good.
