Man dies after being pulled from water at Lochore Meadows in Fife
A young man has died in hospital after getting being pulled from the water at a Fife beauty spot.
Keivan Ulhaq had been visiting the Lochore Meadows on Saturday evening, but got into difficulty while swimming.
The 20-year-old, from Cowdenbeath, was rescued from the water by a group of people in a nearby boat, who gave him CPR as they waited for emergency services to arrive.
Police Scotland confirmed that they were called to the scene at around 6pm, and said Keivan had been taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 6pm on Saturday, police were called to a report that a 20-year-old man had gotten into difficulty in water at Lochore Meadows and had been pulled out.
“He was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment but died a short time later.”
