Hide AdA spokesperson for Network Rail Scotland said: “In order to fix the fault, we're going to have to take control of two lines for around 30 minutes.
“This will allow our staff to work in safety, but it will stop some trains from running.
“We plan to start at 1130.”
A spokesperson for ScotRail said: “During this time, we'll be unable to run trains from Bathgate towards Edinburgh & services from Edinburgh towards Glasgow Queen St.”
At around 1pm, a spokesperson for Network Rail Scotland confirmed that the repairs had been completed and that the lines had reopened.
