It was also announced yesterday that Belgian duo Stephen and David Dewale will play as the official festival "house band", both under their 2manydjs moniker and as live band Soulwax.

Doves, Ian Brown and Friendly Fires have also been confirmed, alongside Plan B, Dan le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip and the Cuban Brothers. BBC Radio 1 is the event's official partner, with DJs Zane Lowe, Annie Mac and Rob da Bank hosting the festival.

The self-styled Most Beautiful Festival In The World has taken place on the shores of Loch Ness since 2006. This year it will run between 11-13 June, with organisers promising "the most exciting and inspired line-up yet".

RockNess director Jim King said: "We're delighted with the RockNess line-up this year, the best we've had to date, and we're particularly looking forward to having BBC Radio 1 on board as our official radio partner.

"We have some really great indie bands lined up, with the Strokes, Doves and Ian Brown, and there's still more bands to add.

"The electronic acts are once again the very best you are going to hear anywhere in the world.

"On top of all this Fatboy is back to his spiritual home, where he's never disappointed.

"RockNess is going to be the best and the biggest party in Scotland this summer, and we can't wait."
