They couldn’t see it out, however, as familiar failings in defence enabled Kevin Nisbet a stoppage-time equaliser.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the ex-Rangers star wasn’t shy in his criticism: “It’s another set-piece catastrophe from Celtic. Teams must be looking at Celtic right now and saying this is an area where we can get at them.
“It's pathetic defending. The goalkeeper is all over the place, Shane Duffy I’m not quite sure what he’s doing, yes there’s bodies there, Callum McGregor and Diego Laxalt, but it’s terrible defending.
“It’s let slip what would have been a massive three points.”
