Bid to allow fans back into stadiums rejected

St Mirren's bid to have their home game with Hibernian played in front of fans rejected by the Scottish Government.

The Easter Road side were hoping Saturday's clash with St Mirren in Paisley would be opened to home supporters.

Increased restrictions placed on Renfrewshire and other areas of the West of Scotland following a spike in COVID-19 cases means the proposals have been rejected.

Scotland’s U21s were victorious last night with Motherwell star Allan Campbell scoring a wonder strike

This is what Alan Campbell had to say about the goal, which you can view below…

"It was a bit of a scuff to be fair. I tried to hit across it and it's gone into the net, but you take any goal.

"I'm proud to score for my country and I'm proud to get the win, so it's been a good week.

"It was a good team performance. We had to come together as a group, they made it hard for us. The pitch didn't help with the astroturf.

"They tried to play it in behind and cause us problems, but we were solid and I was lucky enough to get the goal.

"We had another couple of good chances so we could have scored more goals, but we've come away with the win and that's the main thing.

"If you look at the games we have played, we've shown a lot of great team spirit and good football.

"Hopefully we keep performing and keep winning games."

Celtic linked with DOUBLE deal

Celtic are taking a look at Queens Park Rangers man Bright Osayi-Samuel, according to Football Insider.

Sheffield United complete deal for ex-Parkhead starlet

Sheffield United have completed their fourth signing of the week after clinching a deal for ex-Celtic man Oli Burke from West Brom.

The deal will see Blades’ man Callum Robinson make the move to the Baggies in the opposite direction.

Here’s what Blades boss Chris Wilder had to say about the deal:

"We needed a touch of pace and Oli certainly gives us that. We’ve been working on it for a few weeks and obviously we wish Callum (Robinson) all the best.

"It’s a move that suits all parties and we are delighted to have Oli in the building. He’s had a couple of big moves in the past that haven’t gone as he’d have hoped, but it’s down to us now to give him a kick-start and he’s got all the attributes we want and need.

“When you put it on paper at the end of the window and take a sigh, it’s been an outstanding summer for us, we will 100% be stronger than when we stepped through the door into the Premier League and that’s how it has to be.”
