There is expected to be more activity with the market entering the final stretch. It is at this point some teams get desperate, while others have a better idea of the squad they need for the remainder of the campaign.

It has been made slightly more complicated in Scotland with the leagues below the Championship being shelved and the coronavirus pandemic’s impact still being felt across the country.

There is little idea when fans will be allowed back in with all likelihood that it won’t be until next season which is difficult to contend with as a fan, especially with big games on the horizon. This weekend there is the Betfred Cup semi-finals and fixtures are coming thick and fast in the Premiership and Championship.

Gerrard confirms club are ‘actively trying to add’

Rangers are on the lookout for players to sign, however Steven Gerrard revealed it will be more likely for next season.

The Ibrox side have been linked with a umber of targets.

Rangers target rejects offers

Rangers target Nnamdi Ofoborh has rejected to offers from Bournemouth to extend his contract, according to a report.

Ofoborh’s deal expires at the end of the season.

He, along with team-mate Jack Simpson, are being lined up by Rangers.

Price for Hibs and Aberdeen target named

Ross Stewart could cost as much as £500k from Ross County, according to boss John Hughes.

The forward has attracted interest from north and south of the border with both Aberdeen and Hibs linked.

His contract expires at the end of the season.

That is the view of broadcaster Chick Young who feels Celtic missed a trick not getting John Hughes.

Lennon until the end of the season

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic would prefer to keep Neil Lennon until the end of the season.

An overhaul of the football department is expected in the summer.

Hearts contract progress and striker hunt

Hearts are hopeful of concluding deals for Josh Ginnelly to move permanently and for Andy Irving to extend his stay at Tynecastle.

Talks have taken place with both players, while Robbie Neilson continues to hunt for a striker to add to his squad.

The Hearts boss is also looking at player he can sign on a pre-contract agreement.

Rangers linked with winger

Anderlecht forward Francis Amuzu is the latest player to be linked with a switch to Rangers.

According to reports in Belgium, the Ibrox side are preparing an offer for the 21-year-old winger.
