Frank Warren reveals Dillian Whyte’s ‘ridiculous demands’ ahead of Tyson Fury fight

Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whythe is scheduled for April 23 2022.

It was confirmed last week that Tyson Fury would face Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in April - six months after the Gypsy King’s victory over Deontay Wilder.

Ahead of the challenge for the Gypsy King’s WBC heavyweight title, the duo were set to meet at Tuesday’s press conference - however Whyte was a no-show.

As the contest went to purse bids (which Fury’s UK co-promoter Frank Warren won with a bid of $41million) Whyte’s money is guaranteed.

This means he will not get any bonuses dependent on how well the PPV sells and, as a result, has shown little interest in promoting the fight to generate more cash for his opponent.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Warren said: “I didn’t think he was gonna come.

“I don’t think he fancies coming, he asked for some ridiculous demands.

“At one stage a couple of days ago [it was] that we can’t even use his image on a poster.

“I mean, what is that all about?

“We’re paying him $8million, plus he’s got a $4million upside if he wins, it’s outrageous.

“But it is what it is and we get on with it. As long as he’s there on the night, that’s all that matters.

“One thing I won’t take away from him is his boxing ability, he will come to fight, he’s a warrior.

“But the rest of it leaves a lot to be desired.

“It’s unprofessional, it’s not the industry norm, I’ve never ever been involved with or even seen any fight where one of the two guys doesn’t show up, I’ve never heard of it.”

Tury has claimed he will retire from boxing after April’s bout with Whyte, despite the expectation that he would eventually come up against Anthony Joshua.

The 33-year-old plans to step away from the ring to spend time with his wife Paris and his six kids abroad.

Tickets for the Wembley clash went on sale today (2nd March) - priced between £61.88 and £2,250.
