GB stars set to descend on city for showpiece event

Edinburgh UNI will host one of the showpiece events of British Universities basketball, the 4 Nations Championships for men and women, from next Tuesday to Thursday at the Centre for Sport and Exercise in the Pleasance.

For once England may not be favourites for both titles in an event which will feature several full internationalists. Wales’ women are led by GB 2012 Olympic point guard Steph Collins, while England feature experienced GB cap Helen Naylor.

Scotland women’s coach “Ben” Gunn’s squad includes exciting freshers Claire Paxton and Hannash Peacock in the five from Edinburgh University and two Irish caps, Shauna O’Connor and Louise Gray, in the three from Queen Margaret, while Scots cap Emma Findlay (Glasgow Caledonian) is also there.
